U.S. Ambassador Claire Pierangelo Presents Credentials to President Azali Assoumani

MORONI – The new U.S. Ambassador to the Union of the Comoros, Claire A. Pierangelo, presented her credentials to President Azali Assoumani at the Beit-Salam Presidential Palace on July 5.  During their first meeting, the two discussed opportunities to expand and deepen the U.S.-Comorian bilateral relationship.

“I am honored to present my credentials to President Azali today, and to start my tenure as U.S. Ambassador to the Union of the Comoros,” Ambassador Pierangelo said.  “We look forward to working together with the Government and the people of Comoros to advance our shared goals.”

Ambassador Pierangelo most recently served as Principal Officer of the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria and as the Acting Deputy Commandant of the National War College at the National Defense University.
